I live in a small town. My pcp dr has been looking for a rheumatologist that treats Fibro for years for me. Hasn't had much luck. I have been seeing a lot of ads for a new telehealth group that treats Fibromyalgia and was just wondering what other opinions were on the subject.

I have arthritis also. He has searched Rheumatologists as far as two hours away and hasn't found any that will treat Fibromyalgia. He is doing the best he can but I would really like to see someone who specializes in it.

Are you wondering if telehealth could be a good option for managing your fibromyalgia?

Finding a rheumatologist who treats fibromyalgia in a small town can be really challenging, so it's understandable you're exploring telehealth options.

While the search results don't specifically discuss telehealth for fibromyalgia, many people with fibro do benefit from various treatment approaches that could potentially be managed remotely, including:

- Medication management
- Cognitive behavioral therapy and stress reduction techniques
- Exercise and lifestyle guidance
- Pain management strategies

Things to consider about telehealth:

Before committing to a telehealth service, it's worth discussing with your PCP whether they think it could work for your situation. Some questions to think about:

- Can they coordinate care with your local doctor?
- What treatments do they offer?
- Are they licensed in your state?
- What are the costs and insurance coverage?

Since you've been searching for years, telehealth might open up access to specialists who aren't available locally. Just be cautious of services promising quick fixes or cures - legitimate providers will offer evidence-based treatments like medications, therapy, and lifestyle modifications.

Your PCP might also have insights about the specific telehealth group you're seeing advertised and whether they have a good reputation.
