Members shared various strategies for managing TMJ pain, with many finding relief through jaw exercises prescribed by doctors, though flare-ups can take several days to resolve and be quite painful. Several members recommended practical tools including heated face massagers, CBD patches, dental splints (which one long-term sufferer described as amazingly effective over decades), and ice packs, while also noting that avoiding gum chewing and taking ibuprofen as needed can help reduce symptoms. A recurring theme was that while TMJ pain can be severe and unpredictable, a combination of at-home remedies and professional dental devices can provide meaningful relief.

Been suffering with TMJ pain syndrome since I was 23. I am now 71. Been wearing these devices ever since because they work. Check in with your dentist about the benefits of wearing such a device. BTW, TMJ pain is a cornerstone symptoms manifest by fibromyalgia.
