I'm in Canada and can't remember how to get the process started if anyone could help? I need to get the papers to file for disability and not even sure I have the right website. There are so many!

Members rallied around someone navigating the confusing process of filing for disability as a dual citizen living in Canada, with one member clarifying that Canadian social services would need to be contacted for disability in Canada while the SSA website and phone number are for U.S. claims. Several members shared practical guidance, including that most U.S. applicants are denied multiple times before approval (often requiring a lawyer), that fibromyalgia is on the disability list, and that dual citizens can collect from both countries with some limitations. The original poster later shared an inspiring update that they successfully obtained Canadian disability and are working toward U.S. approval, finally finding stable footing after years of homelessness and relying on toxic relationships for survival.
