Members responded to the question of whether fibromyalgia and CFS are scary, and the overwhelming feeling was yes, though for many different reasons. Several members shared fears about worsening symptoms over time, living alone without nearby support, panic attacks, and worrying that symptoms might actually point to something else. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of losing independence and not being able to keep up with daily life, balanced by some finding comfort in faith, humor, or simply learning to manage day by day.

Not anymore, it did when I didn't know what it was. It just annoys me now

No it doesn't scare me. I have faith in the Jesus's promises that He will never leave or forsake me. He carries me through every day, especially the hardest of days. I'm not preaching. Just saying you have to have something to trust in and be there for you. I know not everyone believes. That's your choice. But for me, I couldn't get through a moment without Him as my Savior.
I love all of you and pray you can have a sweet restful day with ease of pain. 💖🙏💖

The scariest part to me is that what we assume is fibro could actually be something else. So many illnesses have similar symptoms and it's always in the back of my mind. I try not to be complacent and ignore symptoms.

I am scared but also get annoyed that I can't do as much as people my age. Even if I do as much I am paying for it straight after which I hate.

What scares me is what the future holds. Because, my fibro is getting progressively worse, so what is it going to be like in another 20 years 🤔
