Members responded to a question about exhaustion with overwhelming agreement that chronic fatigue is one of their most debilitating symptoms, with many describing constant tiredness, poor sleep quality, and energy that disappears quickly after minimal activity. Several members shared practical strategies for managing limited energy, including pacing activities throughout the day, planning rest before scheduled events, using the spoon theory to explain limitations to loved ones, doing one or two tasks per day rather than everything at once, and taking advantage of morning hours when energy tends to be highest. A recurring theme was the importance of acceptance and self-compassion, with members encouraging each other to rest without guilt, keep moving when possible, and work within their body's 80 percent capacity rather than pushing through and paying for it with worse symptoms and longer recovery times.

Mine comes and goings. Rest one day and the next I have lots of energy. It's been like that for a number of years.

So so, it differs from day to day.

I have energy most days. But it’s more like small spurts of energy. I rest in between activities/chores. If I have a really full day, or a stressful event or experience, then I can sink into the fatigue. I try to keep moving and take short walks or do short reps of stationary exercises to keep the adrenaline going to help with my pain.
