Members shared mixed but mostly positive experiences with Wellbutrin for fibromyalgia, with many reporting improvements in depression, energy levels, and the ability to recover more quickly from emotional situations, though some noted side effects like tinnitus, bloating, dizziness, and nausea that often faded after a few weeks. Several members found success combining Wellbutrin with other medications like Cymbalta or therapy for anxiety, emphasizing that the right combination varies by individual. A recurring theme was patience with the adjustment period and the recognition that while Wellbutrin can provide a helpful boost in mood and energy, it may not be enough during severe fibromyalgia flare-ups.

It does the opposite for me. I used to read into things a lot. I would get angry easily and stay angry for a long time. I now, either don’t have these kind of reactions or am able to recover quickly. I don’t tend to get those aggressive side effects for any meds so far. I was on and off prednisone for weeks at a time, as a kid, and never got that aggressive behavior from that.

I love Wellbutrin. It really gives me a bit of energy and a lot of feel good hormones, however when I have flare ups, even that can't pick me up, but overall I'm very happy with it.

I currently take it and it has helped me a lot. I take it in the morning bc it has stimulant like properties but is not a stimulant. I have less anxiety and depression. I am able to recover from emotional situations (angering ones) faster as well. As far as weight, it is associated with weight loss. I haven’t seen weight loss, but I haven’t gained either.

I was unable to tolerate it but I am on Cymbalta and it makes a world of difference in my anxiety and depression. Supposed to help with fibromyalgia also
