No matter what I do, I'm always overheated. I have a secondary air conditioner in my bedroom, in addition to the central air running through the house. Even in the winter, my air conditioner doesn't get turned off. If I ever get cold, I know instantly that I'm getting sick and going to experience a flare-up.

Members emphatically validated the struggle of extreme temperature dysregulation caused by fibromyalgia, with many describing constant sweating followed by chills, needing air conditioning year-round, and endlessly putting on and taking off layers throughout the day. Several members shared practical approaches including using black cohosh supplements for hot flashes, keeping windows open regardless of season, and carrying towels to manage excessive sweating, while acknowledging the frustration of doctors dismissing these symptoms or attributing them to other causes. A recurring theme was the community's fierce solidarity in reminding each other never to feel ashamed of symptoms beyond their control, with members emphasizing that living with fibromyalgia makes them the true experts on their own bodies.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Never be ashamed about something that is outside your control. Our bodies are different from other people's, and no matter what, no one deserves an explanation of why we must do things differently. That's not anyone's business but ours. Don't ever let anyone have the power to make you feel less than perfect, our bodies around do that for us.

My body temp goes from hot to cold several times everyday. Once I get hot I can't cool down for hours and the same goes for when I get cold I can't get warm. I'm putting on a sweater and taking it
off all day long. It's very annoying, but like second nature to me now. What else can fibro do to make you miserable? It's a long list! Hang in there and don't give up hope.

Yes Jacqui. I am like that. My wife is the opposite. She constantly has the heating on. I spend a lot of time in my bedroom with no heating and the window open. What I can’t understand is how I can feel so hot, often sweating, but my body is cold to touch. Take care.

I tell my doctor. You used to be a god. No longer google is. They are not happy.

I love how all of us have had the "we know the doctor is wrong" moment. Sadly, they never do listen. The best snarky comment I've ever read states, "Your 6 years of medical school does not make you an expert on my condition when I've lived with it longer than you've been in school".
