Members connected over the question of whether achy, sore hip pain is fibro related, with many sharing that their pain stems from a mix of causes including bursitis, piriformis syndrome, nerve impingement, and arthritis alongside fibromyalgia. Several members recommended helpful strategies like foam rolling, tennis or lacrosse balls for the glutes, Diclofenac cream, lidocaine patches, sleeping with a pillow or blanket between the knees, and asking a pain management doctor about peripheral nerve stimulation. A recurring theme was that it can be hard to pinpoint which condition causes which pain, but sharing experiences and trying different tools brought both comfort and relief.

Joint pain in any joint should be expected, sadly.

Monica, when you see your doc, ask if they can show you exactly where the fibro tender spot is on outer hip...?
Mine is recurring bursitis, had 2 surgeries for that and tendon repairs, had a bone spur, etc. but don't know if the ongoing pain is fibro?? Could be scar tissue too. 🤔
Nobody can tell me but surgeon said everything HE DID looks great. Hope he didn't hurt his arm patting his own back! 🤬
Have a good day, love,
Deb 😘
