I turn off A/C vents on my side of the car in Texas summers, Carry a sweater and throw to movie theaters, my body temp is always 97 now instead of the 98.6 it used to be. I actually fainted once because I was outside in the heat, and didn't realize I was over-heated until I dropped (I never felt hot or even started sweating). So I guess something is still trying to regulate body temp, but it just seems like my thermostat is "broken".

Members shared diverse experiences with temperature regulation and fibromyalgia, confirming that while some people run hot, many others are perpetually cold, with body temperatures running below normal and extreme sensitivity to air conditioning. Several members described practical coping strategies including infrared heating pads that penetrate tissue deeply, keeping heated car seats on even in summer, carrying sweaters everywhere, and one member finding relief through calcium channel blockers after being diagnosed with Raynaud's syndrome. A recurring theme was the unpredictable nature of fibromyalgia's effect on body temperature, with many members cycling between hot and cold throughout the day or even experiencing both sensations simultaneously, leading to the shared understanding that their internal thermostats are simply broken.

It’s very common for those of us with fibromyalgia. I have an “infrared” heat pad it really helped me with the cold. The heat goes 3 inches deep into your tissue. Google it and you will see its safe. My daughter also has fibromyalgia and loves hers too. I go to sleep with mine at night.

My mom was like that. The house was always stifling with heat. After she got Alzheimer's we had to always be checking the thermostat. She'd turn it way up every time she passed it.

I am in a cold bedroom, with my window open, bare chested. Calm down ladies. How can I feel so hot. My body feels cold to touch. It is so strange. Lesley thinks your hot OGre. Take care every body.

There is no cookie cutter for fibro just so you know.
Although many of us have a lot of similarities, it's almost like a no 2 cases are the same and can really be anything.
