My short term memory is so bad I forget what I just did a minute before. I can't remember if I took my medication or if I just thought about it and of course I don't want to take it twice. Sometimes I can't remember if I brushed my teeth or not and have to check to see if the bristles of my toothbrush are wet. I feel like I'm losing my mind. Did I put soap in the washing machine?

Many community members confirmed that memory problems and brain fog are very real parts of living with fibromyalgia, with several sharing that they too have feared it might be early Alzheimer's or dementia. Practical strategies shared included using pill organizers, setting multiple phone alarms, asking Alexa or Google to manage medication reminders, writing things down in one dedicated notebook or wall calendar, and physically checking toothbrush bristles to confirm routines. A recurring emotional theme was the grief of losing a sharp mind, mixed with humor and solidarity, as members reminded each other they are not alone in this daily struggle.

My brain fog is so bad that I’ll be in a conversation and all of a sudden I can’t remember what word to use even though I know what I want to say, lots of times I want to google something but can’t remember what it was I was looking for.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I do those things too. Is it just brain fog? Sometimes I wonder if I have Alzheimer's disease.

Fear is my boogie man, Margaret. It’s what I fight against every day. So yes I get fearful about this and all the other things but I mentally know that fear is a LIAR. And I’m fighting every day to have my body come into agreement with my mind on this. Some days I do better than other days, but God is always good no matter how I feel. Hugs 😘🩷💚

Yes can relate my brain fog is terrible . My OT came out and brought a Alexa echo to help set reminders for medication and appointment or anything as I’ll forget ☹️
