Does Your Pain Meds Not Work When The Weather Changes?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

My opioids has not been working and I think its bec of the big change in weather at the moment. Does this happen to you? I really don’t want to take more pain meds and still be in pain.

My pain meds do help with the snow and the temperature at 9 degrees. Taking extra pain meds does not help with weather like this. It used to but the older I got the less more pain meds helped so I don't do it as it doesn't help and is a waste of pain medication to take more than prescribed. I do have a heated recliner and I do layer my pajamas as well as have a heated mattress pad. Yesterday I was able to get a few things done around the house, but today my heated recliner has been my best friend. I have learned not to beat myself up for not doing more while listening to what my body actually needs. Right now it wants to rest a lot and stay nice and warm.

Aye, get on that heated recliner whilst listening to your body. :)

I get that sometimes but I think it’s due to having bn on them for so long they sometimes don’t work as well as normal , but I do suffer more when weathers bad

Yes, sometimes....like today for example. I had to really whollop myself with my pain pills this afternoon. They did nothing this morning and my blood sugars were high due to the amount of pain I had. I am feeling better now than I have all day. I took double my pain meds this afternoon and it helped!
