Members widely confirmed that extreme constipation is a common struggle with fibromyalgia, often worsened by medications, with many experiencing IBS alongside it. Several members shared practical remedies that have worked for them, including psyllium husk powder taken twice daily, chia seeds mixed in water or juice, magnesium supplements, dried prunes, probiotics, stool softeners, prescription options like Linzess or Reglan, and coconut oil in coffee, while cautioning that probiotics may cause bloating for some and advising patience when finding the right combination. A recurring theme was the frustration of managing a condition that affects both comfort and quality of life, yet the willingness of the community to offer compassionate support and real-world solutions that have brought them relief.

My meds makes it harder for me, but I find taking probiotic + drinking a lot of water + fruits & salads helps.

I have had this problem for many years. I use powdered Magnesium, and liquid trace minerals and sometimes powered Potassium. I prefer to use the plain powders and make my own capsules in order to avoid filters and flow agents.
A friend who has fibro uses prunes everyday.
I hope you find a good healthy easy way to keep yours in check.

OMG yes my pain meds and others make it way worst. I do a stool softer and fiber and a tea. But a week ago I started putting a little coconut oil in my coffee. Trying to figure out the right combination of over the couter products is frustrating.
