@suzanneArsenaukt Suzanne, that made me curious…I just googled it. And found that here in the US., that the FDA does not recommend it as a first choice antibiotic for urinary track infections. Or for sinus infections and others. They use it, if others don’t work. I just remember being given it with my lung issues , and having a bad side effect. There are other strong antibiotic available, which they switched me too after my bad side effect. Most of the good doctors here ,now try to avoid giving it. Only when I was under care at Kaiser , did they prescribe it for me for my lung issues.
It’s always good to Google drug side effects too. i’ve had so many doctors poo poo me about my side effects to certain drugs.

They remoove Cipro here in Canada. Once I told the pharmacist I was allergic to Cipro. She said, " first time I ear that .. Few years later, it's no longer avalable dû to strong side effect. Please ask your Dr for another kind of med. With Cipro, I couldn't feel my 2 arms no more..
No more Cipro here in Quebec Canada... It's been remoove.. Please stop taking those my friend. Your also having side effects 😥

Your doctor like all doctors only "practices" medicine; it's not a sure thing. You need to try different antibiotics until you find one that works without terrible side effects. I don't think Cipro should be the first "go to" for a urinary infection.
