I have such a hard time explaining the pain, it moves to different body parts, and some days it is worse than others. It started on the tops of my feet a few weeks ago, lasted a few days then moved to my ankles, them thigh area, now my entire back/trunk area is hurting. It is such a weird sensation to try to explain, clothing hurts, the wind on my skin hurts, this is just getting ridiculous. My rheumatologist told me I need to see my neurologist.....
I get this a lot, allodynia. Originally it was chalked up to one of my migraine symptom's, which it also common. It could feel like anything, mine literally feels like a localized sunburn and will pop up anywhere, fingers, back, feet, arm, face. It lasts anywhere from a day to a few days. My neurologist explained that it is the nerves misfiring. I also have small fiber neuropathy and fibro. I honestly do not know which of the issues the allodynia is attributed to. But it hurts and I also hate to wear clothes when it is active in areas like the waistband or feet. So sorry you have this too.
I am glad to hear that I am not crazy! My rheumatologist prescribed gabapentin which I stopped taking a long time ago when I switched to Lyrica, but it seems to be helping a little bit
Exactly as you describe. All doctors think I am crazy and just complain a lot. I have good days and bad days. Many thing causes flares of uncomfortable or painful sensations, like pressure from clothes, shoes, bra, sitting, something touching my skin. The sensations can be burning, strong pressure (like something is pressing against an area), cold feeling, numbness, heat sometimes. Usually smaller patches on the skin, could be anywhere, though there are "favorite" areas.
Guess i lost the post. I understand your feeling as often my skin gets many stings, especially on chest and arms.
My skin hurts head to toe and never stops. I certainly understand
