My doctor wants me to an opioid for my pain and I don't want to get dependent on them
You don't have to take anything you are uncomfortable with, if a Dr is forcing you after saying no, that is a violation of your patient rights.
Even the antidepressants, lyrica, ect will have some risk of dependence and tolerance build up, especially if it is ment to be used daily. Not everyone reacts the same either. Strong opiate and weed grown a very specific way is the only thing that actually stops my pain and keeps me functional. I don't need to use it daily either, just a few days at a time. I only get withdraw symptoms if I take pain killers more than 10 days straight. I also find they don't effect me the same as recreational users due to the fact of being in severe pain.
Did they have you try pt and the special diets? Elimination diet was very helpful for me so I could learn which foods are triggering symptoms. That is more of a starting point than jumping straight to the strong medications imo.
Opioids in combination of other. things absolutely help me.
Opioids do not help with nerve pain. Are you on any depression medications like Setraline? Research Low Dose Naltrexone.and depression meds for pain control. Last resort would be medical cannabis. Hope this helps 🌸
Try laser therapy and electrode tens machine and or massage tools. You can buy self care machines that are worth the money. I use tools to avoid medication usage
The strongest mine will prescribe is Tramadal
