@A MyFibroTeam Member there's websites that teach you how to do your own service training. It is very important to learn how to identify the qualities of a dog that is likely to be able to handle it. Even then there's no guarantee, but it is a much cheaper alternative.
Good to go over for therapy animals too.
Your state should have some type of registration process. Either you find the dog or search for a place that breeds/trains for therapy. It is not the same as a service dog though.
To qualify a dog for emotional support, all you need is a Dr Note. Service animal is a lot money for training. Not sure if there are programs to get one free in you area? Hope this helps πΈππΈ
A therapy dog can go through training to provide emotional support however support dogs go through excessive training at the start of their lives to protect their human from disability disaster.
Any dog can be a therapy dog but to be recognized as a support animal it will cost more time and money for training,
