Members came together to support someone navigating a pituitary adenoma diagnosis, sharing personal experiences with symptoms like headaches, vision changes, and hormone disruption. Several members described their own journeys with pituitary adenomas, including long-term monitoring for peripheral vision, medications like bromocriptine, and one member who felt much better after having a cyst removed. A recurring theme was the importance of asking doctors plenty of questions, researching all available treatment options including clinical trials, and weighing the pros and cons of surgery, medication, and other approaches together with your medical team.

Claire, when I had the lumbar disc replacement, I kept thinking "there has to be a better way than fusion!" I did lots of research, found the disc replacement was just starting clinical trials here in the states and searched all over (this was over several weeks...) And found there was a trial here in Oregon about 3 hours away. I applied, had all their tests and was accepted. It turned out to be one of my best decisions ever! ❤️
My point is sometimes there are good options but your doctors may not even be aware of them! And some clinical trials even pay you for your time and travel! Good luck and happy hunting 😘

Sorry you are dealing with this but I have no information. Google mayo clinic. They might be able to answer your question.

Hi Claire did your Doc put you on Parlodel or bromocriptine? When I was trying for a baby many years back it was found I had too much prolactin hormone caused by a small pituitary adenonoma. For a number of years I was told to stay on bromocriptine but I have been off it for a few years as I read it had heart side effects. I was monitored for the peripheral vision early on but no signs of change.
I hope you get everything you need.
