I’ve always been a fast walker. But ever since fibro I walk so much slower now due to the extreme pain and stiffness always, every day. I have long legs but now my stride is so stilted and stiff. Does anyone else get frustrated by this?

Members deeply related to the frustration of losing the ability to walk quickly and confidently, with many describing shorter, stiffer strides that have required walkers, canes, or frequent rest breaks to manage daily activities. Several members shared that fibromyalgia pain centers in the lower back, hips, and legs, making walking, climbing stairs, and even short distances exhausting, with one member recalling how a three-block winter walk to preschool once left them in tears. A recurring theme was finding ways to cope, whether through foam rolling exercises, accepting a slower pace to enjoy nature and birds, or simply giving themselves grace and resting when needed.

Yes, I have difficulty walking.I take slower smaller strides. Hey, it’s ok cuz I enjoy taking my time. I like listening to the birds. I enjoy nature more. There’s pros and cons to everything. God bless!

Have you ever tried Foam Rolling your lower body to relieve your tight muscles and unhealthy fascia?

Yes frequently. I walk slow or have someone pick me up if I’m wobbly. Take care!
