Does anyone have sensitivity to heat? It was warm out today, but not overly hot , I mowed my lawn for about 30 min. and just became so hot. It was an intense heat, in my face, right to my core , if that makes sense?? Feeling wiped out now.
I had heat stroke in the past- am I just more prone to that now? Is it fibro? Menopause ? Unrelated to all of these things??
Just looking for opinions please. 😀

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that heat sensitivity is a real and frustrating symptom of fibromyalgia, describing experiences ranging from intense facial flushing and core overheating to profuse sweating, burning sensations in the limbs, and even passing out when their bodies get too warm. Several members shared practical coping strategies including taking frequent breaks to cool down, staying hydrated, avoiding sun exposure during peak heat, dressing in layers, carrying portable fans and water, eating high-protein snacks to refuel after overheating episodes, and being mindful that certain medications can worsen heat intolerance. A recurring theme was the unpredictable and often confusing nature of temperature dysregulation in fibromyalgia, with many members describing malfunctioning internal thermostats, sudden sweating for no apparent reason, and overheating serving as a warning sign of impending pain flares or exhaustion.

Overheating (inside or outside) is my signal to shut things down.
It’s a precursor to higher pain levels for me. So I take it very serious. You’re basically running on empty and your engine is overheating 🥵.
I usually take a long enough break to cool down, then have a high protein snack/meal to refuel, or just fall asleep 💤.

Heat is not my friend either. I have to be super careful. I can't go in a sauna or hot tub. I'm an outdoors person so I always have to pay attention to the weather.

I read somewhere that people with fibro are more prone to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
