I have had this happen on and off before but yesterday was the worst, it feels like a belt tightening around my stomach and back below the rib cage, I can’t for the life of me figure out what it is or how to get it to release, it has eased a bit but I can still feel the tightness. Just wondering if anyone else has had this and what you do?

Members responded to someone experiencing a tight belt-like sensation around their midsection just below the rib cage, with several sharing their own similar experiences and possible explanations. Many community members described potential causes including costochondritis, digestive issues triggered by foods like gluten, hiatal hernia, or even ulcers, with one member sharing how a kinesiologist successfully treated their hiatal hernia through adjustment rather than the scans and medications specialists had recommended. A recurring theme was the challenge of pinpointing the exact cause of mysterious bodily sensations and the value of exploring both conventional medical evaluations and alternative practitioners when seeking relief.

Depends on how high up it is but it could always be a hiatal hernia. I had one once and thank goodness I found a good chiropractor that helped me. The gastroenterologist wanted me to do a CT scan and an endoscopy etc etc. And the cardiologist wanted me to take a drug because my heart was racing.
PS. Actually I saw a kinesiologist who knew how to adjust me because I had gone to a chiropractor before I saw the kinesiologist.
