What do you do to get rid of it?

Yes, tmj, migraines, watery eyes, bloodshot eyes that burn, I press on my forehead to relieve pain pressure and there's a pressure point about three inches up your chin line that releases the lactic acid build up from jaw pain.

Hi there, I have suffered from TMJ and migraines for years. Over the past few years I have been getting Botox injections and they have helped somewhat. I am never pain free. I also wear an upper and lower mouth guard at night. I'm a constant clencher.
I have tried everything in the past: massage ( including inner oral), acupuncture, osteo, chiropractor, physio, meds, different bite plains, tens machines... none of it had ever worked for me.
It's surprising how much constant pain we live with each day that it becomes our new normal.

Some people prefer heat (hot compress, heating pad, hot water bottle) but I find it aggravates the pain. ICE, on the other hand, is a godsend. I use a bag of frozen corn on my jawline and suboccipital area.

All the best

Jill

Yes, I’ve also had TMJ for years and I believe part of the reason for biting my tongue is because mine swells when I sleep but no idea why. Right now I am on a muscle relaxer to help relieve pain related to Occipital and Trigeminal Neuralgia. I’ll be starting Botox injections next month. Get yourself checked out sooner than later, I also believe this is how I ended up with tongue cancer, by the constant biting my tongue… I hope some of this helps at least!
