Do These Sound Like Migraine Symptoms?
Ive had these symptoms in the past but they always go away - this time they have stuck around longer. I have pain in my neck and in my head, there is intervals where the head pain is pulsing and feels like intense pressure and i feel extremely dizzy when the pressure gets intense. Was wondering if this is what a migraine sounds like?
In my experience, migraines don't effect the neck lower than the very top where it and my skull combine. There are 2 main types of migraines; research will better help you figure out if you are having migraines and lead you in a productive discussion with your doctor.
Many of us with fibromyalgia have intracranial hypertension, although it's often too low to diagnose as typical IIH. Beware of doctors who want to do a lumbar puncture and "test pressure" as this is rarely accurate, and in people with Ehlers Danlos or other connective tissue disorders, the lumbar puncture hole doesn't heal. This may lead to a life of being bedridden, since standing upright causes terrible headaches.
There are lots of ways of coping with the pressure without taking prescription meds like Diamox. Some people get incredible relief from craniosacral therapy. I take thiamine, which inhibits production of cerebrospinal fluid. It's like Diamox, without the side effects. Great info in this article. https://www.healthrising.org/blog/2018/02/24/pr...
If the pain is localized to only one side of the head, it could be a possibility still, but if the pain is more widespread than that, it would not be a migraine. I personally suffer from a singular endless tension headache, with other types of headache pain thrown in at random (ie an eyeball feeling like it's being crushed, or sharp shooting pains on one side that only last a minute or two). These all could be fibro related, but very easily could be unrelated as well, I've gotten no answers thus far. It's hard to get to the bottom of things, even with doctors, as fibro can cause so many issues, but comorbid conditions are extremely common as well, and inevitably amplified by our condition. I definitely recommend discussing with a doctor, especially with the risk that something very serious could be happening and being masked by fibromyalgia. Do these issues start after standing or sitting, and do they feel better almost immediately after laying down? If so, you might want to discuss with your doctor getting tested for POTS. It's a very simple noninvasive test. POTS has many causes, and can sometimes be managed very easily.
It could be but mine are more than that
