Xmas Eve I ate prime rib, shrimp baked in oven with bread crumbs, mashed potatoes and green beans. Xmas morning- woke up and had trouble swallowing. Is this from fibromyalgia?do you think I should make a doctors appointment tomorrow to see if she can give me anything for it. Thank you and God Bless!

It's definitely a part of fibro however it will be worth an appointment with the doctor for further investigation.
I have trouble swallowing, feeling like food gets stuck in my esophagus then feelings of needing to vomit, if I am not careful. Sometimes I will take my pills, have them in my mouth with water and it’s like the muscles forget what to do for a minute then all of a sudden remembers. For me, rice is the hardest thing to eat. Drinking helps with the feeling all together.
Definitely need to tell your doctor if this occurs for you.
Hi Marie, I'm sorry, you may remember that back in July I had a gastostomy because of the problems I had swallowing. During the gastostomy biopsies were taken. You asked me to let you know the results. I was waiting for those results for over 4 months and I thought by this time you had probably forgotten you had even asked me.
The feedback I had from the hospital was that I had chronic active gastritis and they had found a polyp and an ulcer but no malignancy. However the recommendations they gave me all pointed to my medication lying in my oesophagus for to long and causing significant damage. The gastro dept at the hospital sent me a long list of do's and dont's.
If you are worried sweetheart, I would get it checked out with your doctor.
In hope this helps you Marie.
Take care, if you have any other questions let me know.

Me too. It's been happening for at least 2 years. Small bites help. Sometimes I get hiccups. Carbonated water helps. I bought a carbonator to save money.
I have an appointment with the doctor the first week in January. I'll mention it again.
@A MyFibroTeam Member I have the opposite. If food gets too far back on my tongue I automatically swallow before food is properly chewed. Then I choke on it.
