Does Anyone Have Globus Pharyngeus Or Globus Sensation?
This has been bothering me for sometime. My GP recommended antiacids (Tums) which hasn't been helpful. Before it went away after a month or so. It's back again. If you have experienced the same condition, what has worked for you?
I have had periodically. It is scary! I think for me it is stress anxiety related.
@A MyFibroTeam Member, Thanks for the thorough response. I experience similar sensations/discomfort. Your description helps me with my Monday appt with my GP. 💜🌷
I have the Globus sensation periodically. However I don't know if it exactly fits the definition because it is painful. It feels like the throat is closing up or a large lump in the throat. Most occasions are caused by stress/anxiety with crying and a few with acid reflux when sleeping after lactose ingestion. All are short lived, but create a painful choking sensation where I am gasping for air for a minute or two. I have five of the potential causes: hiatal hernia, stress/anxiety, cervical osteophytes, sinusitis with post nasal drip, and occasional acid reflux. I only occasionally medicate for the acid reflux and sinusitis. (Prerelief and Pseudofed) To date, I have not been to an ENT.

I have discovered the blessing of peppermint oil caps, gets rid of heartburn, settled my tummy and less digestive tract pain. And its all natural. Peppermint candy helps but doesn't last as long
