I found out that I have myofascial pain along with my fibro. No wonder my pain has gotten worse! I read on Google conflicting information about this. Some say Myofascial Pain Syndrome is a separate condition from fibro and some say it is part of fibro. Can you have both conditions? My PT says a lot of his fibro patients have the myofascial pain..

Yes!! I have fibro and my face hurts sometimes. My daughter has fibro and she also has it.
They diagnosed me with that first, then fibromyalgia. It’s confusing.
I have it as well. Had TMJ pretty bad, but lost most of my teeth on my rt side due to bone disease, & that's when I got diagnosed. It can be horrid pain, & I think they are similar & can go hand in hand, but, are 2 separate monsters^^
YES
I was diagnosed with that first as well.
I do very much think they coincide
Thank you for the link, Straw. I have these painful, hard knots in many places. PT is doing dry needling to release them and it is helping as they are causing referred pain. I cannot tolerate massage but even if I could, it would take a lot longer and sometimes massage can’t get rid of the knots.Still have a long way to go, but the needling is slowly relieving the pain. If my pain can at least be reduced, maybe I won’t have to take so many pills.
