Extremely Intense Pelvic/abdominal Pain
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone experienced extremely intense pelvic/abdominal pain? It's been going on for over 2 years and I'm no closer to a diagnosis and am really frustrated. I had a flare of this on Friday night that was so extreme i couldn't walk(my boyfriend had to partially carry me to bed Friday night, and not the romantic way). I told him i would be surprised if i didn't throw up from the pain before the night was over. I didn't, and am very surprised by that. I've gone to 2GI specialists and an OB/GYN… read more

I assume your GI specialists have already ruled out Irritable Bowel Syndrome which can come as a sidekick to Fibro.
Check out the symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis which sometimes comes as a Fibro bonus. Confirmation would be through a Urologist. Last year I had bad abdominal/ pelvic pain (band-like) especially at night. There was some urinary retention with burning sometimes. A diet change and a supplement has kept it under control.
Good luck on your quest!🤔

I am so sorry you are going through this! You're definitely not alone; I'm sure you know that people with fibromyalgia suffer from this in high numbers. Along with your specialists are you able to work with a pelvic floor therapist?

Hey Ann, I've never had anyone mention a pelvis floor therapist. Thank you for the idea! I'll have to look into this

Hey Margaret, i have had a ct done and there were no fibroids, no cysts, nothing abnormal. I know that with our bodies, it usually isn't multiple issues but rather one issue that encompasses everything. But this is one time i really feel like the bowel issues were a separate issue from this, and i think this is honestly interstitial cystitis. Just had an oh moment because my trigger for this past flare was so clearly recognizable on Friday evening. Just don't want to get my hopes up for an answer yet
