Hello friends,
I saw my Neuro surgeon today for my lower lumbar spine issues. He recommended a pain injection as my lower back pain is not giving a relief.
Has anyone had pain injection?
What are the good and cons of it?
Was or is it helpful?
Any advice is appreciated xx

My husband gets pain injections he felt like you get us to having them. That after a while they stop working. That is one of the things I've heard lots about is after so long that they stop working. That is the reason I DON'T do injection for pain. It is only a temporary relief it doesn't solve the problem long term at all. I feel that is where you start to depend on it and addiction can play a factor into all of this. I only say this because of the classes I have taken...

Your doctor could refer you to Neuro Surgeon or your physio therapist. Come tomorrow it's one year I was down on my knees with lower back pain, I couldn't walk, my left leg felt weak and was scared 💔
I rang my doctor she prescribed cocodemol and gabapentine but not successful. I went to see physio 27th August 2021 she referred to A&E for urgent MRI scan.. that's how my diagnosis of Spinal lumbar Stenosis came about. Legs are still not stable due to a nerve going down my leg. Back pain is going 😫

I did injections for a year and they helped tremendously!!

I agree with the above, and just be aware if that weakness and altered sensation (and worse) can become permanent if the problem isn't resolved.

I've had injections, epidurals, nerve blocks, infusions for years. They all help found nerve block lasted longest and infusion helped for bout a week
