Hi Everyone
Has anyone here taken Ozempic? It’s a drug for type 2 diabetes but has recently been approved for weight loss. Of course it will be rebranded for weight loss and no doubt cost a fortune.
As I’m sure many of you can relate to, I gained a LOT of weight since becoming ill. I gained over 90 lbs! A few years ago, at my heaviest my blood sugar was getting higher and was considered borderline diabetes, my cholesterol was high, my OA worsened and my blood pressure went up. Of course all… read more
Thank you @A MyFibroTeam Member it definitely helps.
I definitely was referring to Australia. Sending you gentle hugs 🫂 💜
I have an observation that I hope will help us all going forward. Olga, you live in Canada and hjberry lives in Australia. I live in the U.S. We should all keep in mind that we have members from other nations on our site. Drugs and how they are prescribed and even availabilty can be vastly different in other countries. I believe hjberry was referring to Australia. I also believe Olga overreacted. Hope this helps..🙏
Olga, have you had your thyroid checked? I am hypothroid and before being diagnosed put on weight although I had no appetite. Once I was on medication, the weight just fell off. Just a thought. I have not heard of Ozempic. My son went to a dietitian and has had excellent results.
Weight loss for each of us can take many different approaches. I've lost weight just eating one meal a day. It's a salad in a salad bowl for portion control. I have romaine lettuce, spinach, half of an avocado, chicken meat, dried cranberries, pecans, and a few croutons. I use SKINNY GIRL poppy seed dressing. At night I have a tiny icecream sandwich. I have a very sensitive stomach but the salad 🥗 works for me. As for medication ordered for weight loss, each person along with their Dr. Only must decide what's safe for them. I take naltrexon, which is used for drug and alcohol abuse. I have neither of those problems, but they found it works for fibromyalgia pain. What's right for one person might be wrong for another. Try to be loving and positive with each other. Say sorry and forgive each other. Support each other and move on. God loves all of us 🙏 ❤️.
I also am on blood thinner as I have had 8 ischemic strokes due to APS. Being on blood thinner I have to watch how much vitamin K I intake. It interferes with my blood thinner. I have to even have a multivitamin without vitamin K. I love salads and greens, but am very limited due to the vitamin K.
