Pain Medication And Xanax
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I read the other day that who ever makes these decisions, have decided that Xanax is not good for you and are recommending that patients stop using it.

I also received a letter from Medicare about using pain medication and that you should use alternative treatment.

Here is my question: Have any of you heard the same thing? What do they expect us to do?

I only take 1 mg of Xanax and I take Tramadol 3x a day. If they take those away, I will be in even more agony!

I felt so much better when my doctor-specialist- prescribed xanax a few times a day. As I could not remember the doctor that prescribed this to me, my doctor took me down to about 2 xanax's a week. i was like wow....not good

That's awful. Cymbalta and Lyrica are very addicting also but they don't mind handing those out like candy. No one wants to be on a medication oh, but we have to live life!

I take Xanax twice a day and it has helped my nerve pain immensely. I know it is addicting and I've taken it for years, but it is the ONLY thing that has helped. I tried to tell people that I only take it for pain but they just look at me and think I am super anxious person. I do have anxiety with fibro but it really hasn't out that much at all. I wish they could be in our bodies for one day!

Colis, I forgot to tell you that you can get free discounts on your prescriptions through GoodRX. Paying out of pocket is still expensive, but discount prescription cards help some..
