A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

OMG!! I am so, so sorry your doc is doing this!! I've only had one doc act this way and that was back in 1991. Have been blessed with open minded, compassionate medical professionals who have always tried to understand my concerns. Holding you in my heart and keeping you in my prayers! 💜🙏

My Doctor didn't want to diagnose Fibro but he did at least refer me to a rheumatologist. He said it was definitely Fibro and sent my GP medicine to try. He also sent a referral to.thevpain clinic. All good, I am in the UK and our free National Health service is brilliant but you have lengthy waits for referrals. I have been waiting 4 months .
And girlfriend, ditch that doctor. Life is too short to waste it on him. There must be someone better near you.x

I didn't get the nothing is wrong with you w fibro, but I did get it from a Ortho Dr. My husband insisted he get a CT scan instead of relying on x-ray. If my wife can't stand there's something wrong! We got it and he still said nothing's wrong but I insisted on the radiology report and I called him. The radio Dr said he couldn't say why the Dr won't treat me.he must have decided after the exam that my back wasn't supporting the ct scan?????. I said he never touched me. If a Dr doesn't check for range of motion, etc. He hasn't examined you. If it's beyond their scope of knowledge then it's not a problem. CT scan said I had disc disease, and bulging discs. Ended up going to a chiropractor for relief. Worked for 16yrs, and then he retired. Get copies of all tests, and Drs notes. The US seems to be a better place to have this disease at least for me.

What a bunch of horse pucky. The doctor is off base and out of date. He most likely got very little training in medical school on pain management or fibromyalgia.
I had a back surgeon that was an egomaniac. He could not understand why I was complaining about pain. His response was “I did a good job”. Well guess what. It is not sbout you bud!! It took a year to finally get diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The surgeon even yelled at me for not being stoic enough. I spent that year crying out of frustration. Depression was Inevitable.
Eventually I found a wonderful pain management doctor that turned my life around. We discussed options and worked together.
Get a new doctor and tell this current doctor good Riddance. Do deserve better.
