Has Anyone Suffered Hair Loss/thinning?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

For about 6 months now I've noticed my hair is thinning rapidly. Plus my scalp hurts, almost like the new hair growth is painful if that makes sense. Is there anything anyone has found to help with this?

Yes, I'll go through periods of time where I experience thinning on top. I have to wash my hair pretty often and use a shampoo that's for babies who have cradle cap. That seems to calm the inflammation and soreness that happens. This seems to slow my hair loss and give me some time for hair to grow back. There are many lovely accounts on instagram for toppers that look amazing, so I'll just try to take things as they come. Hugs.

My hair thinning seems to be along a different path. I'm 47 and it started thinning when I was only 18. It has never grown back; my scalp is visible from the back and top of my head. I was told it was male pattern hair loss, but I think it was probably the start of my health decline, although I didn't develop Fibro until my thirties. Sometimes I get a sore scalp, when I get nerve pain in my face, it can extend to the scalp. What people are saying here about hair falling out is frightening. I have sympathy for anyone going through that. It took me some years to accept the state of my hair, but I'm in good place with it now. To experience it falling out anew would be traumatic at this stage.

YES! My hair started falling out in 2015. I get the scalp pain too. Nothing doctors have tried has worked. It's like my hair growth is stuck in the "shed" cycle.
