My knees hurt so bad and because of it my gait is unsteady which has my leg muscles and lower back hurt like hell. I know there will be some form of pain but I don't think it should hurt like this. Should I have my Dr send my to a physical therapist to get me on the right track before continuing with fit camp?
Gentle yoga works well for me. Also doing the box breathing technique helps me with pain reduction, relaxation, and getting to sleep easier. Do the box exercise 5 full rounds ( of beathing in and out). It helps me significantly as it engages your parasympatic nervous system. I experience fibro pain less and less since purposely doing these breathing exercises multiple times day, combined wit yoga at least twice a week. Try it!
I agree with lynndm- I do yoga, qigong and relaxation regularly and I find if I stick to a discipline and do it without fail I feel better and sleep better. If I fall out of my routine - due to a visit or travels or events or being especially busy due to work or kids- I fall into an episode or flare-up. It can feel limiting to have to be so disciplined frankly- but it is so obvious that it helps that I find motivation in that.
Tai chi or qigong? Very gentle and slow. Also Feldenkrais is good for people in acute pain. It is very gentle!
Im sure you look lovely. It's been a hard few years for anyone to stay active working from home and everything but especially when you are hurting. I'm a Jehovah's witness so used to walk miles everyday up and down streets. Now I sit in front of a computer writing letters ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚ I feel so unhealthy but we just need to do a bit each day to stay healthy x
hey Sharese, definitely talk with your doctor, about physical therapy, as well as this fit camp... dont jump in to anything without talking with your doctor about what is best for you and your situation.
