I’m 68 and my pain has gotten worse over time. Extreme temperatures keep me indoors. Intense cold is the worst for my fibro especially if it is damp.

Ernestine, I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 47. That was 20 years ago. I suffered with fibromyalgia since childhood. But when I turned 40 or maybe 38 I really started having a lot of more pain etc. I was worried I might have cancer, and they just didn’t find it. Finally I received my diagnosis of fibromyalgia. The pain and fatigue and stiffness got worse with each decade. I received a diagnosis of osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis as well. So some of my pain is from that. The constant weather changes cause a lot of pain for me. This year is a lot colder too.
You’re doing well to work, I couldn’t do that.

Yes it did for me. I was diagnosed at 41 and had to retire on ill health grounds at 57. But remember everyone is different...there is no certainties with this horrid disease. Try not to think too far ahead...listen to your body and be guided by how you feel x

Oh Millie! Your story is very emotional 😓. I pray your relationship with your daughter continue to thrive. Your son will come round one day but it may be too late. Keep hopeful and courageous.

Ernestine, the cold, rainy, wintery weather makes the pain I have worse. I can’t stay warm enough outdoors. And as I get older, the pain also either has gotten worse or I have less tolerance for it. Fifteen or twenty years ago, I could go do something to forget sbout the pain, now I need time to get ready and the walker and does my daughter need the car? Then to get out to the car and get the walker in the car, can be a challenge that some days is too much to do by myself. Depending on the level of fatigue, I may choose not to expend the energy on that. I am rambling. Sorry. I think that yes as I get older the pain has gotten worse.
