After I vigorously rubbed my scalp all over I got dizzy 😱. Not spinning but just dizzy feeling. I was standing up mainly. It didn't last long but scared me!! I've dealt with vertigo and dizziness before due to either inner ear or my cervical spine issues but can't remember this. Oh Ho Ho Ho it's Sooooo much fun having this HOrrible illness 😧πŸ€ͺ😜. Thanks everyone and God bless us one and all😍L

Members connected over experiencing dizziness with fibromyalgia, with many sharing that dizziness is a daily challenge they manage by holding onto walls, taking Dramamine, or checking medications for side effects and interactions. Several members offered practical strategies including tensing abs when feeling faint to prevent passing out, using piriformis stretches and topical magnesium for sciatica-related dizziness, and being cautious about medication combinations that can worsen symptoms. A recurring theme was the unpredictable nature of fibromyalgia, where managing one symptom often leads to new challenges, yet the community continues to support each other with compassion and hard-won wisdom.

@A MyFibroTeam Member It probably depends on the source of your sciatica (this might not be as effective if it's rooted in disk problems), but I've had a lot of luck with piriformis stretches "While lying on your back with both knees bent, cross your affected leg on the other knee. Next, hold your unaffected thigh and pull it up toward your chest until a stretch is felt in the buttock" (if you look up pictures of it that would probably be most helpful to visualize it). It hurts so you need to start slowly but it is super effective for me and I can now do a really deep stretch. My sciatica used to make my legs give out but now that I do the stretch basically every day it has become so much better and almost never gets to that point anymore.
My sciatica is due to piriformis tension, so topical magnesium (theraworx foam is what I use) works wonders at releasing the tension. I used to see a chiropractor for myofascial release multiple times a week but with the magnesium and stretches I've been getting much better (and less painful) relief. A trigger point release stick can also be helpful (I got one from Amazon that is specifically marketed for fibromyalgia and it definitely helps. It's curved with lots of points/bumps so it's easy to use and can be used in lots of places, it's very helpful for my upper back/shoulders too). I totally agree that it's always something with this condition, as soon as I learn to manage my current symptoms, new ones always tend to pop up πŸ™ƒ

Super late reply, but if you tense your abs when you feel dizzy like you're going to pass out it typically fixes it (it might not help with all dizziness but it has kept me from passing out several times). I learned it in one of my biology classes and it's probably one of the most useful things I've learned in school.

Am so sorry u suffer from dizzy spells! It's SO awful! Especially when it affects walking! Almost 100 percent of people applying for disability get turned down the First try. Most people get a disability attorney to help them with the process. Good luck and God bless. Hope u feel better soon. πŸ˜‡L

My dizzy spells had become so bad that my husband or children had to drive me to and from work. I no longer have a job since mine was eliminated this past July. I have applied for disability since it was recommended my my GPA. It's been 3 months and I haven't heard anything. Anyone, else have any luck getting on disability in the US?

I take Dramamine with me all the time now because I do randomly get dizzy. Although sometimes its bec of medicine side effects. So check to see if that is a cause as well
