Intolerance To The Sun And Warmth
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have recently been itchy and cannot be out in the sun or warmth because I get rashes and feel sick. The rashes range from pimple type to red blotches.i just had all of my bloodwork done and it came back perfectly. I am scared.....I also notice broken blood vessels in my extremities. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Many of the medications used by fibromyalgia patients cause extreme intolerance of sun and increase the risk of getting sunburned

Unfortunately Fibromyalgia seems to alters our Natural Thermostats, by making us overheat and feel Freezing Cold, even at the same time.
Summer I also feel hot and my skin is itchy as well as Winter Time if I overheat as well.

Always trying different methods to either stay Cool or Warm.
You can buy Pillows that have Cooling Covers on them, haven't tried using the gel mats at all but I hear that you can put them in the freezer or fridge to cool down before putting it on the bed.
Just make sure that you use a Waterproof Mattress Cover on your bed.

Because we are all individuals that you find what works for You personally.

Many Blessings to You.

You will have to protect your skin before going into sun. SPF 30 sunscreen is perfect, you don’t need any higher. It’s the re application that’s important. Try re apply every 2-3 hrs if spending the day in the sun.
Then shower and apply a nice body moisturizer with aloe Vera.
Hope that helps 😍

My sister has rosacea. She can’t be in the sun because she gets red blotches and pimple like bumps.
She also has the broken blood vessels.

I had two red patch circles on each leg behind my calves. Had many cortisone shots to no avail. Finally went away. The sun burns my face and arms. Sunscreen helps. I get very hot with minimal exercise.
