Members overwhelmingly confirmed that weather significantly affects their fibromyalgia pain, with most reporting increased symptoms during cold, humid, or rainy conditions, and many describing heightened sensitivity to barometric pressure changes that can trigger flares, headaches, and joint pain up to two days before the weather shifts. Several members shared that they experience intolerance to both heat and cold, though preferences varied, with some finding relief in dry, cool weather or snow while others felt better in summer warmth. A recurring theme was the unpredictability and frustration of weather-triggered symptoms, including stiffness, swelling, and feeling like they had been hit with a baseball bat, with members expressing both solidarity and humor about how weather becomes a daily challenge in managing their condition.

I keep hearing (and reading) about people loving warmth and hating the cold. Oddly enough, I'm the total opposite. Heat increases the pain, but cold soothes me. I can't be the only one haha I hope I'm not.

I have more flares and headaches when the barometric pressure fluxuates rapidly or I am too cold. In other words I feel like I have been tenderized with a baseball bat and I have not motivation to do anything. I hope this answers your question! 😁
