Members widely related to the experience of grinding, cracking, and popping joints, particularly in the neck, shoulders, knees, and ankles, with many attributing these sounds to fibromyalgia, arthritis, or tight tendons from muscle spasms. Several members shared that massage therapy provided significant relief for neck and back pain, though the ongoing cost can be prohibitive, while others mentioned getting x-rays to diagnose underlying conditions like osteoarthritis or looking into crepitus as a possible explanation. A recurring theme was the discomfort and unsettling nature of the loud sounds, paired with uncertainty about whether they indicate damage or simply tightness.

My neck, shoulder blades, wrists, ankles, knees, feet make crackling and popping noises always. I also have arthritis which causes that too. The tight tendons we get with muscle spasms with Fibro contribute also.
