A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hey folks, so I don't know if it's anything to do with the fact I have probable adhd and I am autistic, or if it's a fibro thing, but when I go from to fatiuged to function to so wired I can't sleep and have horrific insomnia but less fatiuge, I feel high like I've taken some speed or something lol
Any one else get like this
I'm getting formally diagnosed in a few months, so I'm hoping if it's to do with the adhd or something else I have going on I don't know about, that I can get some… read more

I have B.D.D., B.P.D., Bi-Polar D., O.C.D., CPTSD and yes absolutely, my moods and energy levels go up and down and zopiclone stopped working for me as a sleep aide so I was prescribed Tryptophan which works well, I also discovered that the horrible nightly cramps in my feet were caused by zopiclone. I'm highly allergic to many meds so I'm on a very tiny amount of weak meds for all my mental illnesses.

I have been diagnosed with Bipolar 2 disorder and I go through this. It has to do with our gut brain axis and the nerves. When pain gets too high, it literally cuts off blood flow and communication between our guts, brain, hearts, and all our nerves. Fibro to me is a nervous disorder with autoimmune tendencies. When my pain is too high, I cannot process info I hear or read at all. I can't understand normal conversation and my favorite word at those times are Huh? I can totally relate.

I have adhd, autism and have recently been told i have fibromyalgia. I am down mood wise. I don't know how much of that is due to my diagnosed issues or how much is due to the fact that I am plain fed up because I have not been able to see my mum since last march.

Holly you got some great answers.
I think what youre experiencing can indeed be fibro induced. Ive read about fibro highs and lows and one of our sisters on this site explained fibro can bring bursts of energy. But for me, having a surge of energy on some days and feeling wierd up on other days is different. They can certainly overlap, but not always. Inusually feel weird up before storms and cannot sleep. Feel like im connected to storm!
But on the days I feel well and hsve a lot of energy I can actually sleep well. I dont quite get it.

But im glsd your getting checked out for other things bc fibro symptoms can resemble many symptoms. Hope you find answers and treatment.
Big hug. Praying you feel better.

Hey loritheilen, I havnt been tested no, but I do wonder. I'm getting an assesment for autism and adhd soon, and I do wonder if she diagnoses bipolar also.
I've just started on meds for depression and am feeling much more energised for some reason, it's amazing.
