Members shared mixed experiences with weighted blankets for fibromyalgia and sleep, with many expressing genuine love for theirs and describing a comforting, grounded feeling that enhances the sleep experience, even when they couldn't pinpoint exactly why. Several members noted that weight preference varies greatly from person to person, with some finding even 10 pounds too restrictive or heavy to move under, while others purchased the heaviest available and appreciated the extra warmth. A recurring theme was that individual comfort needs differ widely, and finding the right weight through trial or starting lighter may be key to whether a weighted blanket becomes a helpful tool or an uncomfortable burden.

I have been using a weighted blanket for about 6 months. I'm not sure that it helps with any of my symptoms, but it does give you a grounded feeling when in bed. It is so heavy though, that it is very difficult to move and even turn over in bed. I have considered removing it but ultimately decide not to because it does add something to the bed experience.... I'm just not sure what that is, or how to quantify it.
