You need water pills and to insure that you are getting enough protein. I blew up like Jaba the Hut......Call your doctor.

Have you been checked for RA? Sometimes cellulitis skin infection will cause swelling like that. In photo it looks a little red underneath middle joint.

My hands and feet swell a lot!

Yes, my hands, feet and ankles swell fairly frequently. I also have Raynaud's, but there has never been any swelling with it. It actually turns your finger white, blue, purple and hot pink, in no particular order, rhyme or reason. It can happen in the heat of summer too. I also have blood vessels that break for no reason in my fingers which causes a bit of pain as bruises form. This will cause a slight swelling to, but not as bad as the regular swelling that I first mentioned. I think the frequentl swelling might be tied to hypothyroidism because after they increased my thyroid dosage a lot of swelling in my ankles, feet and hands went down.

I have finger swelling regularly, but only for few hours. Uncomfortable, itchy, cannot really bend fingers. To me it seems some sort of reaction for environmental trigger or physical trauma. Heat, allergen or after I carry bags, or do dishes, lift something or for no reason. At the very first time the swelling involved only two fingers, it was also painful at the joint and lasted for about six months. Reumathologist did blood work and x-rays, did not find anything.
Just a couple of reasons listed below (from the internet)
Exercise and Heat
Your heart, lungs, and muscles need oxygen to fuel your workout. So, more blood goes to those places and less flows to your hands. Small blood vessels react to this change and expand, and that swells your fingers. Something similar happens when your body heats up in hot weather. To cool down, blood vessels in your skin swell to allow heat to leave the surface. This is totally normal.
Medicine
Some common culprits include:
Over-the-counter pain pills like aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen
Steroids
Certain drugs for diabetes or high blood pressure
Nerve pain drugs like gabapentin and pregabalin
Hormonal therapies with estrogen or testosterone
Puffy fingers from medication usually isn’t a serious condition. But talk to your doctor if you’re worried.
Raynaud’s Disease
This is a rare problem that affects blood vessels in your fingers and toes. It causes them to narrow when you’re cold or stressed. Lack of blood flow makes your digits frosty and painful. They may turn white or blue. When the vessels open up and blood returns, your fingers can throb and swell. In serious cases, lack of blood flow can cause sores or even kill tissue.
