I always have pain to my neck, hips, back and scalp. My arms hurt after doing the shopping or lifting things but I'm having a flare up the last week. My arms are burning with pain and hands, my fingers on my left hand feel like they're being squeezed. Has anyone any ideas how to help with the pain? I've been awake all night for days and days. I take 50mg amitriptyline, ibuprofen and tramadol but it doesn't touch it.

Members responded to someone experiencing severe arm and hand pain during a fibromyalgia flare by sharing practical remedies and diagnostic insights that had helped them find relief. Several members recommended copper compression gloves worn at night, topical treatments like ketoprofen gel, arnica salve, and hemp-based products, and one member suggested trying Cymbalta as a medication option, while another emphasized the importance of ruling out cervical spine issues through MRI and neurologist consultation since neck problems can radiate pain into the arms and hands. A recurring theme was the value of addressing root causes alongside symptom management, whether through chiropractic care for fibromyalgia patients or surgical intervention for conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome discovered during similar flare-ups.

Maybe try searching for a chiropractor in your area that deals with fibromyalgia patients as well it’s starting to help me slowly and it will take time it won’t obviously heal fibromyalgia but it may help manage the pain

I use hemp salve on my wrists every night (I use the Lavander Arnica one from Humbled Healing) and I think it helps. It doesn't make the pain go away completely, but it reduces inflammation and helps some.

Have you used ketaprofen gel? It's the stronger version of volterol. I rub that into my hands along with deep heat or similar and wear the copper gloves.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. I've got some arnica and lavender massage oil I use when the muscles around my hips go tight, never thought of using it on my arms and hands, doh!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I'm going to try the compression gloves and if things don't go back to my 'normal' pain of back, hips and neck I'll ask about cymbalta. I always get a stiff neck when I'm driving or doing sewing and have to crack my neck back into place.
