I know everyone is different and what works on one person won’t work on another.....but I want to get some ideas of what I can switch too. I was on cymbalta from 2014-2016. It worked great for my anxiety, but what I thought were new fibro symptoms turned out to be side effects from the cymbalta. Plus it was a nightmare getting off of it. I went about a year and a half without taking anything for my anxiety, but in the fall of 2017 my anxiety got so bad, I lost a lot of weight I couldn’t afford… read more

Members shared a wide range of medications and approaches they've tried for managing anxiety with fibromyalgia, including Effexor, Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, Latuda, CBD gummies, and non-medication strategies like meditation, deep breathing, yoga nidra, and YouTube relaxation exercises. Several members warned about difficult side effects and withdrawal experiences with SNRIs like Cymbalta and Effexor, weight gain from Lyrica, and the importance of testing for genetic factors, thyroid issues, and sleep apnea that can fuel anxiety.

I avoid folic acid. I avoid B - complex vitamins. I have a genetic disorder that my body can’t process these things. Get tested for this genetic defect. If you have it and it is untreated you will never resolve your anxiety. Get your thyroid tested for reverse T3 along with the other thyroid tests. You can have normal thyroid lab results but have a completely abnormal reverse T3 result and that can cause debilitating anxiety. Avoid caffeine all the time. Learn Yoga Niidra. Eat a diet of Whole Foods, no packaged or fast food. Exercise daily, breathe hard. Get tested for sleep apnea and treat it accordingly.

I hope some of these suggestions help you.

I took Lyrica for almost 6 years, I finally weaned myself off due to all the weight i was gaining. Once I was off, I literally lost 10 lbs. I'm no longer bloated and feel much better. I think i had to many side effects and didn't realize it. I'm learning that the less chemicals i put in my body the better I feel.

I just thought of this ...I could have said it before..can not think today but for an anxiety attack and you have nothing, take a Benadryl. If it helps one sleep it should help anxiety. I forget where I heard this 🦋
