I usually host Christmas Day, I have anywhere from 12 to 17 people, the last year was just 12. Every year my SIL’s step son and family are always here. Their daughter (now 6 years old) always had a cold when they come over, it always made me a little nervous that I would get it. I don’t get anything mild, when I get sick, it will put me down for a few weeks. Now with covid I will have even more anxiety because I will wonder ...”does she have a cold or Covid” Because I had the virus my immune… read more

Penelope💗, I think Nopain covered it all well. I agree, it’s just too risky for everyone. And, you have to think of your immune system after having Covid like you said. A zoom get together is a good idea and safe!

This is a major concern. Especially with the flu season and covid 19 surging. One of my daughters planned on hosting a big fsmily gathering, but cancelled the holidays. She is a doctor and believes the risk is too high.
I agree.

All our families have decided to not do group get togethers this year. It’s sad. I haven’t seen my mom in a year now but for everyone’s health it’s for the best. We do zoom get togethers for birthdays and celebrations. Everyone just needs to be understanding and realize this is temporary and the best for everyone. How would they feel if they gave or get Covid from a family member and who knows what could happen. If you can’t get outta it just make sure you take tons of vitamin c and zinc and lots of vitamin D3 plenty of fluids. Wear a mask and sanitizer and air filters. Soon as everyone gets a vaccine have a big party. Hang in there. 🤗

If you want everyone in attendence for next year, don’t gather this year. Hold them in your hearts, write a card, call, or zoom but don’t gather. I would tather miss you for one holiday season, than miss you forever.

It's only 3 of us, mum normally goes her sisters which she will probably do. Unless we still have high cases. The rate has gone up as more people back at work and universities have over 1000 cases but are isolating, plus they decided to shut pubs etc at 10pm, so they have all mixed. Also people have become complacent. Doesn't help when the government gives mixed messages.
