Members discussing body temperature and trigeminal neuralgia shared mixed experiences, with some reporting low-grade daily fevers or feeling unusually hot, while others run consistently cooler temperatures but still feel overheated more easily. Several members described exhausting thermoregulation struggles including constant hot-and-cold cycles throughout the day and night, requiring fans, layered clothing, and separate sleeping arrangements. A recurring theme was the complex overlap of TN symptoms with other conditions like fibromyalgia and menopause, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of temperature dysregulation.

Hello, TN stands for trigeminal neuralgia. the A stands for atypical (I think)
I have TN and I never had heat related issues for the first 10 years or so of being diagnosed with it. I was in my mid thirties when first diagnosed with TN.
I do have heat issues since being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, about two years ago, so I assumed fibro was causing it. Or that I was starting menopause.

I pretty much run a low grade fever everyday. It lasts for about an hour or so.

My thermostat is off the charts. Hot, cold, hot, cold , hot , cold all day everyday. It’s exhausting!! Can’t even sleep in bed with my husband because of this. Covers are off and on all thru the night. Fan off and on even with the air conditioner on. I am like this in the summer and winter. Always trying to figure out what type of clothing to wear , especially when shopping. I always take a sweater in summer because It’s usually cold in stores and I actually sweat when I’m cold. It’s just crazy!! In winter, I wear layers so that I can remove clothing because I might get too hot in or outdoors. I’m sure some of you guys experience some of this unpredictable looneyness right??

Jasmina Started out suddenly end of Feb, numb in L cheek, was off and on til Apr. Heaviness also in the cheek. At end of May it increased in pain and I was having pain int TN- nerve area- L side. FINALLY saw Neuro end of June and she diagnosed it as atypical facial pain, all my research said TN. I get shooting pain in TN area either side and, brushing my teeth can cause pain by upper canine teeth, flossing can be painful. I had one nite, putting on my nitegown that caused the TN nerve to zing. The 2 fb groups I'm in say I have TN. Don't know why Neuro's don't call it that. let me know if this helps, you need more insight.
