I have been dealing with bad memory loss and was wondering if anyone else has this problem. It’s Both short and long term memory that I have problems with. Someone can tell me there name and I repeat it to try and remember and five seconds later can’t remember the name. If I change up my routine during the day I forget things that I do everyday. Is there anything I can do to help this?

Members responded with strong support to a question about memory loss, widely recognizing it as a common fibromyalgia symptom known as fibro fog that affects both short and long-term memory. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them, including writing things down, using phone reminders, playing brain-strengthening games, eating more protein with fewer carbs, and taking supplements like CoQ10 and NAD. A recurring theme was that poor sleep and medication side effects can make memory worse, and that asking doctors about cognitive testing or therapies is a helpful next step.

Fibro fog is rampant for people who have fibro. I will walk into a room and forgot why. I will start a sentence and stop for I forgot how I was going to end it.

I will ask a question and forget the answer just minutes later and the family would get upset. So now when I rewalk in I say, " I know I asked this. I know you answered this. But I just forgot." That has helped them not think I am doing this for kicks.

What can help? I am not sure. I have heard about Prevagen the OTC pill but I don't anyone who has taken it to tell me if it has helped them.

It is frustrating as hell.

I believe my initial symptoms of fibro were cognitive in nature .... my memory and concentration were the first to display issues.

Oh My God! It started about 4 years ago. I blame it mostly on a side effect of the anti depressant I've been on forever, and my Hypothyroidism. But now the brain fog with the Fibro has kicked in. It is so frustarting!! Hang in there. I play a lot of mind strengthening games on the computor to help. I also, Eat protein in the mornings, hardly any carbs at all during the day. I believe it has helped my clarity.
