Just wondering if Fibromyalgia symptoms include being unsteady on your feet and stumbling and tripping over your feet all the time, as if you can’t lift your feet high enough when you walk? Five weeks ago my neurologist took me off Sifrol and placed me on Paxam. Since then I trip over my feet because I can’t seem to lift them high enough and so I stumble. I also feel unsteady on my feet. Is this a Fibromyalgia symptom that maybe was being controlled by the Sifrol? Or is this something else I’m… read more
Also I now sleep really deeply and if awakened too early I am disoriented and stagger and sway terribly! Like if i zonk on the sofa unable to control it and then I wake up and can barely walk much less get up to bed But sleep studies showed no apnea but severe lack of REM phase
Actually I am very clumsy since getting the FM I find my spacial awareness is out of whack!!! Also strangely I will do the opposite to what I want to do if I need to place an object to the left I will put it to the right I put stuff in stupid places I am almost always getting my husband s and my drugs muddled up even if I say it out loud while I do it !!
And to think I used to be a nurse and midwife!!!

Thanks everyone. I have an appointment with my doctor in a week to see how the new meds are going. I’ll definitely be mentioning the balance issues, or lack thereof and the stumbles. Stairs are proving to be rather hazardous.
Oh my god ye terrified of having to climb onto a step cos leg wont allow the lifting. I have put this down to having a vestibular disorder and didnt connect it to this
I have days where I’m unsteady on my feet. Unable to judge the distance between step on stairs, walk into the door frame as I did align myself to go through the middle. I take a shopping trolley 🛒/ cart when I’m at the supermarket even for a few things as carrying a basket effects my balance and looking at the shelves and not where my feet are I’ve run into the end of isles and knocked stuff off ... bit like a bull in a china shop 😂. The pain management team and my doctor gave me tips to avoid falling on wobbly days. Always hang on to the hand rail when they are there particularly on stairs. Push your toes into the step so you know you’re all the way on the step. I would panic when it got bad and would hyperventilate which made things worse so I just go at my pace wherever I am... it’s my safety I’m concerned about first and foremost.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
