Members overwhelmingly confirmed that menstrual cycles significantly worsen fibromyalgia symptoms, describing unbearable all-over muscle pain, fatigue, and flare-ups lasting days that many tracked through symptom diaries and discussed with their doctors. Several members found relief through hormone management strategies, including continuous birth control pills to skip periods, ablation procedures, hysterectomies, and the Mirena coil, with many reporting dramatic improvements in both fibro symptoms and quality of life. A recurring theme was the monthly cycle of severe pain that women often endure in silence, frequently forgetting to mention it to doctors between episodes, alongside shared relief in knowing they are not alone in this experience.

@A MyFibroTeam Member it was the best thing for me. The actually found a benign mass the size of a softball when they did the procedure. It was being hidden by my bladder when they attempted other scans. So between the 2 issues being resolved it was a win. And i returned to work 4 days later.

Yes i have noticed after keeping a diary of symptoms and how i felt on the day that i have a major flare up a few days prior and then during. I did discuss this with my dr who agreed that due to the hormonal change it was a possibility.thanks everyone xx

For sure! The pain and fatigue are so unbearable I literally think I am dying every month for 7-10 days. Not just menstrual pain, all over muscle pain.
