Is Anyone Having Any Trouble With Sensitive Hearing?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Every now and then, or when I am having a FM flare, I noticed that my hearing gets sensitive. Like every sound is amplified. The sound of doors closing or even my son’s voice is too loud. Is this related to Fibromyalgia or something else?

A sudden sharp noise will put all my nerve endings scream. My husband dropping a piece of silverware in the sink,,,,someone squeezing a water bottle will just about put me on the ceiling. Some mornings I get up and don't want to hear any noise at all but that seems impossible.

I can't even stand to hear a fan noise in the kitchen or bathroom. It's like it irritates me and I just want to get away from it. A room of noisy kids and adults hurt my ears too. Lights also do the same thing. If my clothes are too tight I get irritated and feel claustrophobic.

I have it & have been told I have sensitive hearing from lots of ear infections as a child - badly damaged ear drums.

Fibromyalgia and PTSD can cause this. I get it aswell and have both of them.

Yes this is a symptom of fibromyalgia, sometimes there are sounds that will make it feel like your head is going to explode
