I Have Sjogren's Syndrome And Fibromyalgia, I Know I Need To Self Isolate Due To Coronavirus Which I Am Doing.

I heard on tv last week (uk) that I should be shielding from coronavirus because although I don't take any immunosuppressive medication I could be more vulnerable because my lungs would be infected. Has anyone heard of anything similar?

Members with Sjogren's syndrome and fibromyalgia discussed their concerns about COVID-19 vulnerability, with several sharing they were advised to limit outgoing due to compromised immune systems and nervous system differences that affect how their bodies respond to illness. One member described a harrowing experience catching COVID-19 despite having Sjogren's, developing a 104-degree fever followed by life-threatening blood clots that required ten days of hospitalization including six days in the ICU. A recurring theme was the challenge of distinguishing COVID-19 symptoms from fibromyalgia flares, as both can cause muscle pain, brain fog, and disorientation, with one member spending weeks thinking they had the virus when it was actually a severe medication reaction.

Only heard about self isolating due to low immune system because of the other co-existing conditions that go with fibro.

Yes the symptoms are very similar but apparently we should be able to tell the difference between fibromyalgia and the virus.

I didn’t. I was out of it for 3 weeks waiting for anti covid test. I had to go to the ER because I was dizzy and disoriented. I spent 4 hours and had every test imaginable and was told it was a fibro flare up. I figured it out myself with the help of my pharmacist. I was having a severe reaction to Hydroxyzine. It took 5 days for clear my system and now I’m sooo much better!!!!
