I took a pharmacology class for my continuing education for nursing about long term use of Omeprazole, zantac...it kills all the good bacteria in your colon and can cause you to have a C-diff infection...also disrupts your bodies ability to absorb calcium which is vital for the heart to work properly..amongst other complications..those are the big ones. I avoid eating late at night avoid drinking alcohol, coffee, soda, avoid eating spicy foods try and keep my weight down.

Gosh a lot of us have gerd. I take pantoprazole. I also eat gluten free and try to stick to a low fodmap diet. I also have ibs (another symptom of fm). My last endoscopy showed Barrettโ€™s esophagus.

I wonder if itโ€™s all the medicine we take or just more symptoms of fm. My doctor said no nsaids. He wants to do a mobility study but itโ€™s done at a teaching hospital a couple hours away. So Iโ€™m stalling.

Please make sure your doctor is monitoring it. It can lead to more serious problems. Use the suggestions our team offers. Best of luck and feel better soon.๐Ÿ™๐ŸŒป๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒผ

I am trying Orange Burps for GERD, it has helped. It contains D-Limonine from orange rind. The name is fitting, you will have orange flavored burps, but it helps with the burn a lot.
